Sean Reifel, 29, was a Bethlehem, PA cop for less than a year when he resigned to join Love Island USA Season 8. His mayor has entered the chat — on TMZ Live.
🚨 The cop who traded his badge for a villa
Easton Mayor J. William Reynolds did not hold back. In an interview on TMZ Live this week, Reynolds said Sean Reifel's exit from the Bethlehem Police Department leaves taxpayers stuck with the tab — recruitment, training, a new open position — for an officer who bailed in under a year to go look for love in Fiji.
Reynolds' exact take: it's "leaving litter behind for someone else to clean up." He acknowledged Americans can chase whatever opportunity they want, but said police departments are already struggling to recruit without the added competition of reality TV stardom.
Then Harvey asked whether finding a beautiful woman might make the whole thing worth it. The mayor's response? TMZ says you'll want to hear it yourself.

Sean entered the villa on Day 1 paired with Beatriz Hatz. Then bombshell Kayda Bosse arrived — and Sean's partner stood on the red dot. He was one of the two men left single after Ep.1's twist.
💔 Ep. 2: Kayda picked, Kenzie cried, and someone got very surprised
Love Island USA S8 Ep.2 aired Wednesday night on Peacock. The twist from the premiere payoff: Kayda had to pick between Zach Georgiou and Bryce Dettloff, both of whom she'd kissed after they stepped on the red dots in Ep.1.
Per first-look footage: Kayda walked into what looked like a hotel room with Bryce following. That left Zach back in the villa — still paired with Kenzie Annis, but Kenzie had noticed the whole time. She broke down in the confessional: "I feel like I always pick the people who don't choose me."
Meanwhile, Sean — who watched Beatriz walk off in Ep.1 — looked genuinely blindsided. He told cameras he didn't see that coming at all.
At the start of the season, Kenzie had told producers she wants 10 kids. She's currently partnered with a man who just tried to leave with a bombshell. It's going great.
1🎤 AGT Season 21 Ep. 2 is live — buzzer count still at 7 remaining
AGT's second round of auditions aired Tuesday night on NBC. After a historic premiere that burned through three Golden Buzzers in one night (Lai Noelle via Simon, Acro Canine Crew via Terry Crews, Luke Taleno via Howie Mandel), the judges headed into Ep.2 with 7 of their 10 remaining buzzers.
No confirmed Ep.2 recap is out yet — but based on the premiere's pacing, expect Mel B and Sofia Vergara to be looking for their moments. Sofia was beaten to the buzzer twice in Ep.1: once by Simon for Lai Noelle, once by Terry Crews for the Acro Canine Crew. At this rate, she's hunting.
2📺 Peter McFerrin wins game 3 on $5,999 — yes, really
Jeopardy!'s current champ Peter McFerrin entered Wednesday's game (June 3) as a two-day winner with $68,198 banked. Final Jeopardy category was Lesser-Known Americans. McFerrin bet $10,001 — and got it wrong. His answer: "What is the March of Dimes?"
He kept $5,999 from his pre-Final total of $16,000. His opponents apparently did worse, because Peter McFerrin is now a three-game champion with $74,197 total. He'll be back Thursday trying to extend the streak.
